Hooligans has been a Boise staple since 1983, built around a simple idea: good food, cold drinks, big games, and a neighborhood full of people who know your name.
More than 40 years later, Hooligans is entering a new chapter. In 2026, the pub came under the ownership of Dan and Amanda Rockrohr and Lisa and Will Freeman, a family of Boise locals who also own Boise’s oldest diver bar, The Cactus downtown.
For them, taking over Hooligans isn’t about reinventing a neighborhood institution. It’s about taking care of what’s already here. Keeping the character, the regulars, and the laid-back spirit that have made Hooligans a local favorite for decades, while bringing some fresh energy to what comes next.
